Safety Playbook for Individual Development
and Engagement of Responsible Students
Introduction and Objective > What is Self-Esteem? > What Decreases Self-Esteem? > Effects on Self-Esteem > What Increases Self-Esteem? > Summary
Self-esteem is the confidence we have in ourselves. Everyone deserves to have high self-esteem and to feel great about themselves as individuals! Surround yourself with the things and people who bring out those feelings of goodness in you, and push aside those negative thoughts that we often let take control. If you can’t do this alone, that’s okay! Reach out to a trusted friend or adult to help jumpstart your journey to sky-high self-confidence.
If you or anyone you know has experience with these or other difficult situations, it’s important to know that you’re not alone. Talking to a parent, teacher, counselor, family member, or other trusted adult can help you to resolve the situation before things become too difficult to control.
Before you go to the next page, make sure that you’re ready for your assessment.
